It also attracts students who wish to complete professional certifications or associate’s degrees. The college’s numerous degree programs include:

  • Accounting
  • Biological Sciences
  • Business
  • Criminal Justice
  • Drafting and Design Technology
  • General Studies
  • Humanities
  • Instrumentation
  • Practical Nursing
  • Process Technology
  • Social Sciences

Popular programs include Process Technology, consisting of intensive courses and training to prepare students for work in the petrochemical corridor, and Practical Nursing, which fits the region’s expanding health care needs. RPCC’s small class sizes and accessible faculty help students from diverse backgrounds and experiences succeed.

Campus clubs and activities include the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa honor society and the information technology club.

Qualified RPCC students can expand their coursework by cross-enrolling in three four-year public colleges — Nicholls State University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Southern University at New Orleans. In addition, RPCC offers dual enrollment with some Ascension Parish high schools, which allows high school juniors and seniors to accumulate college course credit.
