View All Events

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival is one of the oldest blues festivals in the country and has been an annual tradition in the capital city for more than 20 years. This Louisiana favorite presents attendees with the opportunity to hear both renowned musicians and newcomers, and the best part is the festival is entirely free to the public.

Through the years, the Baton Rouge Blues Festival has moved from the Southern University campus to downtown Baton Rouge, and in recent years, more than 10,000 people between the ages of 18 and 65 enjoyed the family-friendly atmosphere, delicious Southern cuisine and, of course, some of the best blues music around.

This one-of-a-kind festival is held in April and draws popular blues, gospel and soul artists from around the world. Past lineups include the Bobby Blue Band, Phil Guy and Grammy-nominated performer Ruthie Foster. The event features multiple stages that deliver a jam-packed day that is sure to please blues-lovers and casual drop-ins alike.
