Village Lakes Offers High-End Homes in Quiet Bedroom Community

Village Lakes is an upscale development in the city of Central. The community is a popular choice for families who prefer a rural atmosphere with easy access to the city. Established in 2010, the centrally located subdivision features five stocked lakes and large lots. Many homes are characterized by brick and stucco exteriors with large patios and enclosed garages. Interiors include amenities such as custom cabinetry, jetted tubs, walk-in closets, open gourmet kitchens, high ceilings and hardwood floors. The average sales price for six months in early 2014 was roughly $305,000 at $135 per square foot. The average size home sold in Village Lakes was approximately 2,200 square feet.

    The private development’s quiet streets and sidewalks make Village Lakes easy for residents to walk, jog and bike ride. The new Central Community Sports Park is located less than 10 minutes away and features five lighted baseball/softball fields, a large fishing lake and walking path. The park is scheduled for further expansion. Village Lakes is eight minutes from the Denham Springs’ North Park, a 110-acre facility with a recreational center, fitness and aquatic center, golf driving range, track, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, playground, soccer fields and baseball/softball fields.

    Village Lakes is minutes from a major retail corridor near the intersection of Sullivan and Wax Roads in Central, which hosts a super center, pharmacies, restaurants, banks and gift shops. The neighborhood is 10 minutes from the Denham Spring Antiques District, where about two dozen retailers sell fine antiques, gifts and specialty women’s and children’s clothing. Residents of Village Lakes can reach the major retail centers in Baton Rouge, including Perkins Rowe, the Mall of Louisiana and Towne Center in 25 minutes or less.
